About 25% of the population has flat feet. Having flat feet is marked by a depressed arch in the foot that may make the sole stay in contact with the ground.
This condition can make it difficult to walk due to ankle stress and cause leg misalignment. People with flat feet often have trouble with their knees and lower back.
Symptoms of flat feet can include:

  • Pain around the heel or arch area,
  • Trouble standing tiptoe, 
  • Knee pain,
  • Ankle swelling,
  • Flat look to one or both feet,
  • Lower back pain,
  • Shoes feel uneven, and
  • Shin splints.

This minimally invasive outpatient procedure and done in our office. We implant a spacer in the area between your ankle and heel bones to provide stable alignment.
