During minimally invasive bunion surgery, Dr. Ramos makes very small incisions. Therefore, you experience less healing time and minimal scarring compared to traditional surgery. Furthermore, the procedure uses local anesthesia, so you stay awake and comfortable throughout. In addition, minimally invasive surgery carries significantly lower risks than conventional open surgery, making it a safer choice for most patients.

Dr. Ramos routinely performs bunion treatment right in our minimally invasive surgery suite at our office. However, some complex cases may still require a hospital setting. A bunion is an enlargement of the base joint of the big toe. It forms when the bones in the big toe shift inward toward the other toes. As a result, the area around the base of the big toe becomes inflamed, red, and painful.

For cases that do not respond to other treatments, Dr. Ramos performs minimally invasive surgery to reposition the toe. During the procedure, he removes a small section of bone or rearranges the ligaments and tendons to keep the toe properly aligned. Furthermore, because the surgery is minimally invasive, patients experience less pain and a faster recovery compared to traditional surgery.

Dr. Ramos is board certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. In addition, he holds board certification in Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery. Therefore, you can trust that you are in highly qualified hands. Ramos Foot and Ankle Center is New Jersey's top choice for foot care, and we always strive to get you the best results.
